— FAQ
Frequently asked
questions
Q.Where do day trips start from?
We normally collect you from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Departures directly from the airport (Kilimanjaro International or Arusha Airport) are possible for an extra charge (from $30).
Q.Which parks can I visit in one day?
From Arusha: Arusha National Park (30 min), Tarangire National Park (2 hrs), Lake Manyara (2.5 hrs), Ngorongoro (3 hrs) and the Mto wa Mbu cultural village. From Moshi: Materuni Falls and coffee farm, a Maasai village and Lake Chala.
Q.Can I combine a day trip with a Kilimanjaro climb?
Yes — it's a great combination. Arusha National Park is ideal for acclimatising before the climb, while Materuni Falls and the coffee farm or Lake Manyara are perfect for relaxing afterwards.
Q.What is included in the price?
A 4WD vehicle and fuel, an English-speaking guide, national park entry fees, a lunch box and hotel transfers are included as standard. Drinks and tips for your guide are extra.
Q.Can I join on my own?
Yes, tours run from a single guest. Our tours are private and small (up to six people), so you can enjoy them with your own family, partner or friends.
Q.Do I need cash?
Please bring US dollars in cash for tips for your guide and driver ($10–$20 per day per person), drinks and souvenirs. Few places accept credit cards. Tanzanian shillings are available from local ATMs and exchange bureaus.
